Being “not a runner” is a mindset. It means showing up with gratitude for the run, staying humble in the pursuit, having fun, and putting the people you love first. You are a human who runs, not a runner who sometimes remembers to be human.
I coach athletes and advise running brands with the same philosophy: life comes first, then the work. No ego, no shortcuts, no pretending the process is more important than the person.

I help running, athletics, and fitness brands build their go-to-market strategies. If you have a great product but need help with sales infrastructure, channel development, or breaking into new markets, that is what I do. I bring structured GTM methodology from robotics and enterprise tech into the running world, and I operate bilingually in Japanese and English for brands working across both markets.
For Athletes
Whether you are working toward your first 5K or your next ultra, I build training programs around your actual life. I do not use templates or one-size plans. We will collaborate and design a plan that respects the fact that you are busy, you are human, and your running should make your life better, not consume it.
About Ryan
I am a go-to-market strategist and run coach. I have qualified for and run the Boston Marathon five times. I co-founded Robot Sales Club, a GTM consulting firm for robotics startups, and was part of the founding sales team at OSARO, where I closed the company’s first multi-cell robotics deal. I speak fluent Japanese, lived in Osaka and worked in Tokyo for more than seven years in corporate settings, and run a bilingual Japanese/English content platform with my partner Ken.
I built Not a Runner because the running industry deserves the same commercial rigor I have seen work in tech, and because coaching people through their running journeys is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.
